Such a good blogger….

or maybe not!  I just can’t keep my focus when it comes to blogging…or perhaps my life is just not that interesting.

The big things in my life at the moment….I am on a weight loss kick this year which is going pretty well. 15kg so far and several dress sizes! I bought a Basque dress from Myer on the weekend in a normal person’s size 16 which is a massive achievement for me.

I’ve been scrapping here and there- not feeling massively inspired but getting a little bit done. Went away on a scrap weekend a few months ago and got a lot done from my trip to Tasmania in January.

My last Journal It page was a Top 5 layout..I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

top 5I just need to learn how to take a decent picture of a layout now!!!

Enough for now… I might go and scrap!

Hmm..now returning to your regularly scheduled program

So what’s new everyone??

I have a cold – again – which is not overly fun but I think I will live. We have just made our way through the 5th birthday celebrations of Miss Georgia! We are a little freaked out by having a 5 year old child at all to be honest. It seems to have been a bit of a blur….

We had several party celebrations – a fairytale themed party where we did craft and had some old school party games with 6 little princesses and a pirate, a pizza dinner with the family (more on why that was the BEST pizza ever later) and then a day out to see Yo Gabba Gabba (LIVE ON STAGE – this added by Georgia each time we mentioned it!LOL) with her best friend from day care.  No photos are off the camera yet but I will upload ASAP.

Beth has asked me to be a contributor to the newly-started Journal It blog which is a big honour!  My first effort was for the “When I was little” prompt…how cute was I??LOLwhen i was little

I was pretty happy with how it turned out – I will definitely be representing the simple style in the team!! I’ll never get me a DT gig – not enough product in my pages!!!LOL

I have been a bit slack for the latest prompt – but I will do my best to get it done. THis is a really busy term with reports etc so it gets harder and harder to scrap as the weeks go on. I am also supposed to be doing the “Slice of Life” comp at Enchanted Scrapbooking but it is currently Week 3 and I have only done the first challenge!! Thankfully they don’t have to be up till the end so there is hope yet.

I am cropping this Friday and off to a retreat in a month so I may get to catch up then.

Ah yes..the pizza dinner. It was the best pizza ever for two reasons – one it was Normanhurst Pizza Cafe which has the best pizza ever and secondly I have been on a low carb high protein eating plan for the last 4 weeks. I lost 4.2 kilos in 10 days so I was pretty excited about that and I have really worked hard at changing my eating habits. But I let it go that night!!!LOL

So the good eating continues and we will see what the end results will be. I have a LOT of kilos to lose but having success at first certainly helps the plan along. Back to the naturopath on Thursday for my next weigh in so we will see what that brings.

5 hours and a wedding….

April 26, 2009 at 7:01 pm (Uncategorized)

That will make sense eventually…

Last weekend my sister Susan got married in Melbourne so we had planned a lovely weekend away with all of us flying down (the first time Georgia and Adam have flown together) on Friday morning at 10.15.

We got an early start as we didn’t know what the traffic situation would be – NONE.  We were at the Park and Fly station by 8am and the sirport just after.  No worries…plenty of time for breakfast and a bit of plane spotting – a Boon family tradition. Headed over to the gate in plenty of time, watched the plane come in from Melbourne and got ready to board….except for the announcement that the engineers were checking the plane and it wouldn’t be ready for boarding for a little while.

No worries – 10 or 15 minutes would be no problem. Except we sat there until 3.15pm getting very little information from anyone about when we would be likely to be going. Needless to say it was a loooooooooooooong day and we were well over it by the time we eventually made it to Melbourne. Apparently there had been a bird strike which they had to fix (glad to hear that part!!! I am a nervous flier at the best of times) but they needed to be slightly more apologetic I think!!LOL

Anyway we got our flight costs refunded in the end and we are going back to Melbourne in the next school holidays for very little now so we will get over it!

The wedding (which thankfully was on Saturday) was lovely. It was at Collingwood Children’s Farm with the reception in the barn and it was quite beautiful. I haven’t seen my sister look so relaxed or beautiful perhaps ever.  A picture will follow…

Such a surprise….

April 14, 2009 at 5:51 pm (Uncategorized)

Hands up if you are shocked that I haven’t updated despite my good intentions???

No-one??? Figures…

Thanks to Beth for commenting which made me come and actually do something!!!LOL

School holiday Movie review….Georgia and I went to see Monsters Vs Aliens in 3D today. We both really enjoyed the story – Georgia didn’t enjoy the 3D so much and spent much of the film with the glasses off and a fuzzy screen – lots of laughs and I think it would appeal to a range of ages. There was one Aussie voice which sounded so much like David Koch I couldn’t believe it when the credits said it wasn’t!! I will have to try and send the camera phone pic I took of Georgia in her groovy glasses to the computer so I can post it!

I have been doing a bit of scrapping lately – I have no committments ATM so everything I do is just for the love of it which is quite fun. Not teaching classes etc means I can use as little product (and as many buttons) as I want without anyone being concerned. I have been doing quite a few online challenges though…Puzzlesketches is my definite fave.

This was my March entry…

And yes….that stitching is completely fake!!LOL – I have fooled several people with my ZIG Writer skills!!

A new beginning

January 25, 2009 at 10:05 pm (Uncategorized)

Lets try again in the blogging world.  I like the idea of having a record of things that happen in my life but so far I lack the dedication to keep it up.

We’ll just have to see how it goes….
